The hard disk light on my computer lights up. I have rather little memory 1 GB on my computer and using the 64 bit version. Microsoft says you need 2 GB for 64 bit. Perhaps that's the reason Check for updates to all your drivers too and anything that may be happening routinely but not obviously in the background I wasn't aware this was happening until it happened just before I was going to watch something. Sure it doesn't help but I don't think this is it.
Mine also crashed in 32 bit. It seems that we almost have nothing in common on hardware. I can still move the mouse but can't really do anything with it as windows is frozen, sometimes I'm able to swith program but that's all, can't really use them or anything else. Well, I had a similar problem with machine I built it for a customer, sometimes the machine would run fine for hours not matter what you run on it, but than every now and than it would just freeze and lot of times restart.
It turn out to be a faulty Memory stick, once I replaced it the problem went away. I think I'm going to reformat my computer and see if that solves the problem; for all I know what is going on is just some weird freak thing. I'll let you guys know if that solves the problem, but please continue to look for a solution for the others here who don't have the time to mess with their computers because these random freezes seem to affecting a good number of people.
As far as ram goes I've had to monkey around with my ram's configuration a bit to make window's happy, but it recognizes it and I haven't been getting blue screens so I don't that that is it. Ok I did the reformat and in about mins after everything had been downloaded and set up I was greeted by a frozen screen and the machine gun sound again while watching youtube. After uninstalling it and replacing it with the default MS driver I have been without the aforementioned screen freezes so far Thanks all for your help and for confirming to me that I am not the only person experiencing this.
I was facing a similar issue with my Win7, my PC is running on Creative Audigy 2 ZS and when it comes to driver support its the same story as Vista's again. I was facing freezes every 15minutes, until I dismembered the creative sound card and I haven't faced a single freeze since then. Creative has horrible driver support, they took a year to release drivers for vista that the users could actually live with, with Windows7, its the same story all over again.
It could also be something from WU. Updates from MS have been known to cause problems in the past. I may have found the solution of this problem. For some strange reason, it only happens when the CPU is idling or on very light load. I can play games for hours with no crash. I saw this on Tom's hardware and it worked for me. On very low load, the CPU downclock itself and crashes the computer, which is why run can run heavy CPU task without problems.
It has not crashed since I deactivated this. My power bill will be a little bit higher at the end of the month but at least I got a fully working computer. Would you happen to have the link to the original article or possibly instructions on how this is accomplished so that I might emulate your sucess? Yeah, it is on their forums. Someone said to try this and it worked for me.
I have not crashed for 12 hours now, which it an accomplishment. I too have this problem Only fix is a reboot. My other W7 64bit pc is fine. Are any 32 bit people also seeing this? I'm using Creative labs sound with Micosoft drivers so I don't think it's that causing the problem.
Any solution for this. What machine, what OS, what printer, did you see task manager to see if process running and not freeze? Any AV installed? Other machines working as only one or many machines? All prints including test prints or only certain files? What of the other basic operations of the Machine, does the Machine Freeze when you open them or while using them, e. You can try. Also Disconnect the PC Power cable and press the power button for few seconds, open the Computer Case and try to feel with your hand if any of the parts on the motherboard are extremely hot Please be careful touch gently and lightly not to get hurt.
Also try to check the windows if using microsoft event logs and see if it will give you an error and also check for the time and date in the report for accurate data.. Again does your hard drive have enough space or does it indicate a red color. I have given you some few troubleshooting steps you may Take and see if you can troubleshoot the issue.
All The best. You spooling, going to a print spool or printing "Directly to the Printer", also - I am assuming that you are printing to the IP and not to a WSD port Sign in. United States English.
